Course Overview

The Diploma in Hospitality Management offered by IHMI is a one-year program awarded by Culinary Solutions Australia International. This course is designed to provide students with essential skills and knowledge in hospitality management. After completing the first year in Sri Lanka, students can follow pathway programs in Australia, with the option to study in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane for the second and third years. This pathway ensures students gain international exposure and experience in diverse, vibrant hospitality markets.

Semester One

  1. Hospitality skills

  2. Hospitality in a Socially diverse environment

  3. Hygiene in the workplace

  4. Clean Hospitality venues

  5. Food Safety in the workplace

  6. Occupational Health & Safety in the workplace

  7. Provide Table service

  8. Serving non-alcoholic beverages to customers

  9. Bar operations

  10. Clean Bar areas

  11. Responsible Serving of Alcohol

  12. Plan and monitor Espresso Coffee

  13. Espresso Coffee preparation and service

  14. Develop & maintain Menu knowledge

  15. Provide & deliver Hospitality Service (on-the-job experience)

Semester Two

  1. Manage customer Service

  2. Deal with Conflict situations

  3. Managing & Maintaining Budgets

  4. Budget Preparations

  5. Understanding Business Law

  6. Rostering staff

  7. Leading and Managing Staff

  8. Monitor day-to-day operations

  9. Building & Maintaining Business relations

  10. Implement OHS plan

  11. Provide & deliver hospitality service (on-the-job experience)
